Jim Watkins aka James Louis Watkins

I'm looking to get in touch with The Magician actor Jim Watkins who played Jerry Anderson in the 1973 TV series. His birth name is James Louis Watkins.

Jim Watkins was Bill Bixby's co-star in this short lived TV series. He played Jerry Wallace in the pilot episode. When the series started his name had been changed to Jerry Anderson.

Jerry was Tony Blake's (Bill Bixby) personal pilot. He flew The Spirit (Blake's "mobile home") anywhere from Seattle to San Francisco, to Vegas & even obscure small towns in Virginia. In addition, Jerry was also Tony's personal friend and confidant and his right hand who accompanied him in many perilous missions, oftentimes saving his boss from certain trouble.

Jim Watkins in typical 70's fashion

As the efficient & trustworthy Jerry Anderson, Jim Watkins epitomized coolness an entire decade before Miami Vice's Philip Michael Thomas. Here below is a tribute video featuring Watkins which draws parallels between Miami Vice and The Magician.

For Love or Magic

Watkins was born in Philadelphia on November 7, 1944. He also starred in McQ a 1974 movie; in "Cool Breeze" (1972) and an occasional other show before seemingly leaving the profession in 1984. No further information is available online as to his whereabouts or what he has been doing all this time. We hope he has been well and want him to know that he is loved by his fans & he has been missed.

Mr. Watkins if you read this, please kindly get in touch with me. I'm working on a complete The Magician website and have a few questions for you. Your input would be great appreciated!
